Arty Interests:

I'm a fan of Modern and Contemporary art mostly, but I also have a particular interest in the power art has on peoples' mental and physical wellbeing, in bringing communities together. I also love a good old illustration.

Top tip:

Be open to any opportunity offered to you, even if it isn't exactly what you want to do, you never know where it might lead you.

Favourite artworks:

Chris Ofili
No Woman No Cry, 1998
Deeply affected by the racist attack and murder of Stephen Lawrence, Ofili painted this portrait of Lawrence's mother, Doreen.
David Hockney
The Arrival of Spring in
Woldgate, East Yorkshire, 2011
Hockney created this series on his iPad. I love the colours and mark making he has used, creating texture. It just shows you can create beautiful works of art without paint or pencil.
Barbara Walker
Boundary II, 2000
I really feel a sense of intimacy in this painting. It is very large making the relationship between the figures central to the image.
